there is no pre-searing economy to speak of, at all (bar all those pathetic dye scammers), the trades for the big items are often conducted OUTSIDE of presearing for a start (like, 5 people wanting to spend all their cash on leaked items in presearing is no economy, it's a niche group of people who think of themselves as "elite" LOL) (go and check WTB forums for relavent posts), thus that's a post-searing/the real economy, if anything, trading for pre-searing items...

yeah, you really just /ignored me after reading that.
QFT.

Pre-Seer economy is scamming dyes or trading OUTSIDE of pre-sear.

I've got a question. How do you tame a bear? I thought maybe distracting it with another player would work but the Brea Charm(or whatever it's called) skill doesnt need a target. And I cant think of anyway to tame one.

I got a bear like a month ago but ive since left pre....if i remember the name of the guy for 300g he will help you cap one. He told me how and i might be able to help you but I can guarantee nothing, hence I wouldnt charge either.

I'm a little surprised no one has mentioned Charr Bags in this thread yet.

That is one area that is not minor in pre-economy.

With a 16 level character a run of the bosses takes only 10-15 min (unless 2 shaman spawn together - that can add a few minutes)

I've been getting a charr bag every 4-7 runs

They sell for at least 3k - 5k (I always sell mine for 3 because I don't see any reason to gouge anyone - actually, I would sell lower but when I do I get so many pms I can't deal with them all)

And there is a constantly refreshing consumer base as new prophecy characters are created.

At 1 or 2 charr bags a day it is easy to rack up 100k or more in less than a month - in fact, I'm pretty much financing my guild hall that way.

A steady supply of a desired item, a steady and decent price, a steady and constantly renewed consumer base - who could want more?

I have a lvl 15 character in pre working on the LDOA title. One thing I read here is incorrect.

You can reach level 16 just by killing monsters and doing minimal quests. From level 15-16 it is a grind as you can only get experience for this by killing the four charr bosses in the Northlands. By killing all four solo, you only get 128 exp points and it takes about 15-20 minutes a run. So you are looking at close to 100 of these runs.

Without death leveling you can pick up another level or two by doing the quests but most people going for the LDOA title death level until level 19 and then do all the quests, death leveling at the end if they need more experience to cross over the lvl 20 threshold.

Hunters Ales are also a part of the economy as people do go for the drunkard title in pre-searing as well. You can easily get four ales per run and they do sell for 100G each. People buy these quite a bit and there are people that do go on regular ale runs to supply others. Fort Ranik appears to be the best place to buy ales as this is the starting off point for the run.

There is a special "running" part of the economy for gate openers. I have run into a few people that just hang around Ascalon, opening the gate for 50G a pop so people can go solo the charr.

Charr Bags have changed the economy a bit as people can store more stuff. But as the supply increases, the price has gone down to about 3-3.5K usually per bag.

Dye scammers are there, but there are only a few people running around in their collectors armour dyed all black.

For my part, once I reach level 16 I will disappear from most of that world and focus entirely on death leveling. You don't see a lot of lvl 16-19 people hanging around as once they get to that point everything that you can possibly do in pre has been done. There are some lvl 20's that stay there flaunting their title and holding their special spot in Ascalon. I will leave pre as soon as I reach level 20.

Yeah, those charr bag drops were a great addition.

Especially nice, since it stopped the ridiculous price that glitched-in post sear bags were being sold for. I had one guy try and sell me a post bag (before the charr bags were being dropped), for 300K.

And....that was a fair asking price.

I'm a little annoyed that Anet has allowed these people to keep their glitched characters in pre. Just think of the damage they can do, if they used a guild hall trainer to aquire post level skills?

I would like them to level the playing field and do what's fair for everybody. Give access to equipment/skills to everybody in pre, or remove them from those that cheated the game.

i am in pre, avoiding all quests completely as there is about 6000-8000 to claim once you are level 19 which would save a few weeks.
